It Takes a (Global)Village

To give students an opportunity to build global networks, a new Global Village Celebration was held for the first time on March 21, 2012, on the New York City Campus. A celebration of on-campus diversity, this event provided a forum for domestic and international Lubin students to meet and network with other students from around the world, and served to promote the diverse student population at Lubin. Lubin currently has 800 international students from 70 different countries. The celebration also featured food and music from the different cultures represented at Lubin, as well as raffles and other prizes. Student clubs were involved in the planning and students from various countries prepared slides of the top three things to know when doing business in their respective countries.

During the spring 2012 semester, Lubin students experienced global exposure outside of the classroom through international field study trips to Brazil, China, India, Denmark, and Sweden. Students networked with senior business officials and gained closer insight into foreign economies. Similarly, in fall 2011, students traveled to London, Brussels, Israel, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Over the course of the academic year, 39 students were awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,500 or $2,000 for Lubin field study courses. These scholarships have been made available through the generous support of the Figueroa Family Fund and the Nancy and Gene Celentano Fund. To learn more about Lubin international programs, visit
