Lights, Camera…Lubin Takes Action!


With increasing market demand and the importance of New York as an epicenter of arts and entertainment, Lubin is launching a new Arts and Entertainment Management concentration within the BBA Management major in fall 2012. The concentration will prepare students for the business side of the arts and careers in theater companies, museums, dance companies, contemporary and classical music organizations, art galleries, talent representation and management companies, and television production firms.

Students will learn how to analyze and respond to changing laws, economic challenges, technological changes, union activities, cultural issues, and domestic and international trends in arts and entertainment. They will also learn the management methods of directing and motivating group efforts toward achieving the organization’s primary objective, the optimal allocation of resources. Partnering with Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, Lubin already offers a minor in Arts and Entertainment Management for non-business students. Lubin will be one of only two AACSB-accredited business schools in New York State where students can specialize in Arts and Entertainment Management.

Lubin also has a number of other new programs that have just been approved by New York State or are pending approval, including: a new fully online MS in Strategic Global Human Resources Management, which will be one of the only AACSB-approved programs of its kind in North America; an MS in Customer Intelligence and Analytics, which addresses the need for marketers to embrace big data in making strategic decisions; an MS in Social Media and Mobile Marketing; a BBA in Accounting/MS in Taxation; an MS in Financial Risk Management; and an MS in Arts and Entertainment Management.
